Meetings are limited to duly initiated members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority\, Inc. only. Visiting members are always welcomed and will be required to show official proof of membership and picture identification. First time visiting sorors are encouraged to contact our 1st Vice President at 1vp@stpetedeltas.org for verification of credentials prior to admittance. \nWe look forward to welcoming you to St. Petersburg Alumnae!

SUMMARY:Coffee in Common: Interracial Friendship & Love
DESCRIPTION:Coffee in Common is a monthly series co-hosted by The St. Petersburg Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority\, Inc. and League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area. Community and business partners include the Carter G. Woodson African American Museum and Hogg Batch Coffee. Septemeber’s topic: Interracial Friendship & Love. *The sessions will be held virtually until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic and precautions.*  Space is limited so register early! \nThese free and public events are for thoughtful\, open-minded white women and women of color concerning the prescient issues of the day\, to include: white privilege\, racism\, and white supremacy. This series seeks to explore the intersection of politics and race by educating audiences about history\, lived experience\, and facilitating important\, and often uncomfortable\, discussion about race. \nThis month we encourage participants to order your coffee online from our local roasters\, Hogg Batch Coffee\, in time for a special delivery. \nFollowing the presentation\, facilitators will guide discussion on the topic\, its relevance in today’s world\, and honest conversations about the deeply-rooted effects of institutional and systemic racism in our community. It is through open-minded\, free\, and safe discussions among women and the community that we can forge forward together in the struggle with knowledge and power.
