We are gifted many things in life, but the unmatched gift of love through sisterhood is something we will always cherish. It is unshakable and unwavering, no matter the season of life we find ourselves in.
In this way, we stand with heavy hearts yet in agreement with the will of God, as we announce the passing of Mrs. Gloria M. Flakes, our beloved Chapter President of the St. Petersburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
Gloria led with grace, strength, and an unwavering commitment to sisterhood and service. Her leadership, warmth, and dedication has left an indelible impact on our chapter and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.
Please keep her family, friends, and the members of St. Petersburg Alumnae Chapter and our entire sorority in your thoughts and prayers, as we mourn this tremendous loss.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a private, not-for-profit organization, was founded on January 13, 1913, to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.
The St. Petersburg Alumnae Chapter (SPAC), chartered in 1961, has enjoyed a significant increase in membership which is taking us to another level of community involvement. With a biennial theme, “THE POWER OF US³ – United Through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service,” we are directly aligned with the vision entrusted to us by our Founders. SPAC’s legacy to provide impactful programs to our community is based upon the National’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust.
